Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

Farrell Naturals respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.

Farrell Naturals is a brand owned and operated by NaturallyE (Pty) Ltd (“NaturallyE”, “we”, “us” or “our”). NaturallyE (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party for personal information processed through the Farrell Naturals website and related services.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose and protect personal information when you visit www.farrellnaturals.co.za, purchase our products, create an account, contact us, subscribe to communications or otherwise interact with Farrell Naturals (collectively, the “Services”).

We process personal information in accordance with applicable South African law, including the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).

1. PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

The information we collect depends on how you interact with us.

Information you provide directly

This may include:

  • your name and surname;
  • email address;
  • telephone number;
  • billing and delivery addresses;
  • order and transaction information;
  • account information;
  • information you submit through our contact forms;
  • communications with our customer service team; and
  • marketing preferences.

When you make a purchase, payment information may be collected and processed by our payment service providers. We do not necessarily receive or store your complete payment-card details.

Information collected automatically

When you use our website, certain technical information may be collected automatically, including:

  • IP address;
  • browser and device information;
  • operating system;
  • pages viewed;
  • interactions with our website;
  • referring website or source; and
  • cookie and similar technology information.

2. HOW WE USE PERSONAL INFORMATION

We may process personal information to:

  • process and fulfil orders;
  • arrange delivery;
  • process payments, returns and refunds;
  • create and manage customer accounts;
  • provide customer service;
  • respond to enquiries;
  • communicate important information about orders or our Services;
  • operate, maintain and improve our website;
  • understand how customers use our website;
  • detect and prevent fraud or misuse;
  • comply with our legal and regulatory obligations;
  • protect our rights and the rights of our customers; and
  • send marketing communications where permitted by law.

We will only process personal information where we have an appropriate lawful basis for doing so.

3. MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS

Where permitted by law, we may use your contact information to send you Farrell Naturals news, skincare information, product updates, promotions and other marketing communications.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link contained in the communication.

Unsubscribing from marketing communications will not prevent us from sending transactional or service communications relating to your orders, account or enquiries.

4. COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, understand how visitors use our Services and, where applicable, support analytics and advertising.

Some cookies are necessary for the website to function. Others may be used for analytics, personalisation or marketing.

Our online store is powered by Shopify, which uses cookies and similar technologies in connection with its services.

You may be able to manage cookies through your browser settings and, where provided, through the cookie preferences available on our website.

Disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of some parts of the website.

5. HOW WE SHARE PERSONAL INFORMATION

We may share personal information with trusted third parties where reasonably necessary to operate our business and provide our Services.

These may include:

  • Shopify and other website or technology providers;
  • payment processors;
  • courier and fulfilment providers;
  • email and communication platforms;
  • analytics providers;
  • marketing and advertising service providers;
  • professional advisers; and
  • authorities or regulators where disclosure is required by law.

We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to protect our rights, investigate suspected fraud or unlawful activity, or in connection with a restructuring, sale or transfer of all or part of our business.

We do not sell personal information as a business activity.

6. CHILDREN AND TEEN USERS

Farrell Naturals creates skincare products and educational content for teenagers. However, our online store and commercial Services are not intended to encourage children to provide personal information without appropriate involvement from a parent or legal guardian where required by law.

If you are a child and applicable law requires the consent or involvement of a parent or legal guardian for the processing of your personal information, please involve your parent or legal guardian before providing personal information, creating an account, subscribing to marketing communications or making a purchase.

We do not knowingly use children's personal information for direct marketing without the appropriate consent or other lawful basis required under applicable law.

If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that a child has provided us with personal information in circumstances where the required consent or lawful basis was not present, please contact us at support@farrellnaturals.co.za.

We will assess the request and take appropriate action in accordance with applicable law.

This is a particularly important improvement over your old policy. POPIA imposes additional requirements for processing children's information, including in direct marketing contexts.

7. SECURITY

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction.

However, no internet transmission or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Please avoid sending highly sensitive or confidential information through unsecured communication channels.

8. RETENTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including to:

  • provide our Services;
  • maintain appropriate business and transaction records;
  • comply with legal, accounting and regulatory requirements;
  • resolve disputes; and
  • enforce our agreements.

Retention periods may therefore differ depending on the type of information and the reason it was collected.

9. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

Some of our technology and service providers may process or store personal information outside South Africa.

Where personal information is transferred outside South Africa, we will take appropriate steps to ensure that the transfer is handled in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements.

POPIA specifically regulates transfers of personal information outside South Africa under section 72, so I prefer this wording to the existing policy's Europe-focused Standard Contractual Clauses section.

10. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • request access to personal information we hold about you;
  • request correction or updating of inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • request deletion or destruction of personal information where applicable;
  • object to certain processing;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • request information about how your personal information is processed; and
  • lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

We may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests.

To make a privacy-related request, contact us at:

support@farrellnaturals.co.za

The Information Regulator provides formal mechanisms for objections, correction/deletion requests and complaints under POPIA.

11. THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES

Our website may contain links to third-party websites, platforms or social-media services.

We do not control the privacy practices of third parties. If you follow a link to another website or service, we encourage you to review that party's privacy policy before providing personal information.

12. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes to our business, technology, legal requirements or privacy practices.

When we update the policy, we will publish the revised version on our website and update the “Last updated” date.
